Hello all!

I'm not exactly new in this community, but this is my first post, so yay!

My dad and I pretty much have an ongoing "how hot can you get yours" competition going, and i love it. We both experiment with new, homemade sauces, and it really is a lot of fun!

We start most of our sauces with 2 habeneros, onion, garlic, and vineagar, without boiling the peppers or anything, just take off the stem and throw them in the blender (seeds and all, we like it hot!) Then most of the time, we'll add fruit. And i just love how it turns out. We've used plum, banana, pineapple, strawberries, and a few other fruits.

The best part about these sauces is the delayed impact. At first when you taste it, it's sweet and tangy, but as it gets further down your throat and you swallow it, the heat really kicks in.

Another of my favourite sauces to make is anything chipotle. I purchased some authentic mexican sour cream at the ethnic foods store, and threw that in the blender with a ton of cilantro, garlic, and chipotle. And it is just amazing.

We grow all of the peppers we use (except for the exotic ones, which we get at the ethnic food store) like jalepenos and habeneros, and one season we got so many habeneros, we dried them and ground them into a fine powder, to put on almost anything, and i love the natural smoky flavour.

These are just a few of my favourite hot sauces...as i make and experiment more, i'll be sure to post!
